Date: Thursday, April 27, 2017
Time: 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Location: Vision Forward Association
Address: 912 N. Hawley Road, Milwaukee WI
Audience: People with vision loss who are interested in learning to run or already enjoy running. We are also looking for volunteer running guides.
Vision Forward is excited to offer a nine-week training on running. Marty Malin will coach our group on running basics to running a 5K run. The group will meet weekly and volunteer running guides will be available to assist participants. The training will accommodate you to run and progress at a pace you are comfortable with, whether you are a first time runner or are more experienced.
Looking for some more motivation? Mary Callen, who has run 150 marathons and is blind, will be working with our group and will inspire us with her journey of running.
Interested in being a volunteer running guide? We will offer a training session on Thursday, April 20, from 10 – 11:30 am at Vision Forward.
The training will conclude with the group’s participation in the Brainstorm 5K, in support of the Epilepsy Foundation Southeast Wisconsin, on Sunday, June 25 at Veterans Park.
