Cane Quest is not a race, it’s a rally

Vision Forward is proud to host Cane Quest in partnership with the Braille Institute of America, Inc. Cane Quest seeks to promote orientation and mobility skills among youth who are blind. Students (Scouts), grades 3rd through 6th, team up with a sighted adult and earn coins as they navigate a route inside and outside Vision Forward that demonstrates mastery of basic orientation and mobility skills and proper sighted guide techniques.

Scouts are monitored at all times during the event by certified volunteers. They are accompanied one-on-one by a trained ‘Shadow’ to ensure they stay safe on the route. Scouts are encouraged to have a family member as a guide. Please see “Scout Rules” for details.

3rd – 6th graders (possible younger Scouts can register if O&M skills are appropriate) should have the following two forms completed by October 11, 2018.
