Technology and Education Center connects adults with vision loss to possibilities.

Vision Forward has created a Technology and Education Center to ensure that people who are blind and visually impaired have access to the latest advancements in assistive technology. The center showcases state-of-the-art assistive technology designed for use in classrooms, home offices and workplace settings.

Assistive technology has built in features that allow it to be used by individuals who are blind or visually impaired. This special technology helps people with vision loss access information and it connects them to a world of possibilities. We offer programming for children, youth, adults and seniors, allowing them to see how the technology will benefit them in a variety of environments. The center is also be a resource for the community, family members, vision professionals, potential employers and other agencies wanting to learn about the latest technology and accommodations for people with vision loss.

Through our assistive technology training, we will review your goals and computer skills to make appropriate recommendations on technology to best help you to be successful. The assistive technology we utilize for training ranges from low tech, affordable products such as a voice activated phone, talking answering machine, large print keyboard, and glare control monitor, to high tech devices such as iPad, Jaws screen reading software, braille note taker and hand held video magnifiers.
