Pathways to Independence Camp
August 20 | 9:00 am - August 21 | 12:00 pm

A 2-day camp for teenagers and young adults aged 14-21 who are blind or visually impaired. Led by Occupational Therapists, Certified Low Vision Therapists, Teachers of the Visually Impaired, and Orientation & Mobility Specialists. This camp provides interactive experiences that include organization, list making, grocery shopping, money management, and cooking.
Please RSVP by August 6, 2026. Cost is $300 per participant.
Day 1:
- Labeling to make life easier: tactile and audio labels for clothing, personal items and more
- Technology to help identify items: color identifiers, apps, portable video magnifiers and more
- Keeping your home and space clean: cleaning methods and tools
- Planning and preparing a meal: setting up a meal plan and planning a grocery list
- Money handling: money identifiers, apps, and folding methods
Day 2:
- Grocery shopping experience
- Pre-meal prep
- Eating methods and enjoying a meal!
