Vision Forward is helping people Be Seen for all that they are – not just their vision loss

For more than a century, Vision Forward has empowered people across Wisconsin to thrive beyond vision loss.

The Be Seen awareness campaign challenges perceptions of visual impairment by sharing real stories of strength, independence, and possibility. Together, we can help people see beyond vision loss and recognize the potential in every individual. Pictured is our Be Seen advocate, Stephanie Brandt, a horseback rider, cheesecake baker, and a landscape gardener.

She loves creating and trying new things. After losing her sight from glaucoma, she faced the challenge of rebuilding her independence and confidence. With support and training from Vision Forward, Stephanie learned new skills, discovered the importance of asking for help, and found the tools she needed to move forward. Today she’s dreaming even bigger, with ambitions like parachuting from a plane or going whale watching. Stephanie continues to Be Seen for her courage, curiosity, and sense of adventure.
