All applications are reviewed by the Scholarship Committee who take into consideration the following information during their review: personal and family financial need, academic achievement, career goal, extracurricular activities and character. The number and value of the Vision Forward Association Scholarship Awards vary each year, ranging in amounts from $500 to $3,000, depending on the number of applicants and the financial needs presented.
Arthur L. Ebert Endowed Scholarship
The Arthur L. Ebert Scholarship has also been established at Vision Forward Association to honor the late attorney who invested his life and career in the Milwaukee community. The scholarship, established by his granddaughter Julianna Ebert and her husband Frank Daily, is a tribute to Mr. Ebert’s dedication to family as well as his life of service.
Vision Forward is pleased to be able to honor Mr. Ebert’s life and service by granting scholarship funding to students who are blind or visually impaired.
To qualify for a Vision Forward Association Scholarship or the Arthur L. Ebert Scholarship, the applicant must be visually impaired, legally blind, totally blind or multi-disabled. All applicants must provide documentation from a physician or vision specialist that supports one of the following visual diagnoses in order to be eligible for consideration of a scholarship award:
- Visually Impaired: having a best corrected visual acuity of 20/60 or worse in the better eye.
- Legally Blind: having a best corrected visual acuity of 20/200 or worse in the better eye or a visual field of less than 20 degrees.
