Venetta’s Story

Several years ago, Venetta was diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy, leaving her with vision loss and an uncertainty about what this would mean for her life. She was able to connect with Vision Forward and with the help of our vision rehabilitation services, she has been able to learn how to use assistive technology and develop adaptive life skills to help her continue to do the things she enjoys – like cooking! Venetta, along with her dog guide, Emme, is now on the path to become employed as a paralegal. We were lucky to have her work at our Vision Forward front desk as a receptionist for an internship, as she took one more step towards achieving this goal.
