Family Connections

Vision Forward’s Family Connections program supports children who are blind or visually impaired, and the families who love and care for them.

Family Connections offers a variety of events and services designed to create meaningful opportunities for families to learn, connect, and grow together. These include training courses, conferences, caregiver matches, and support groups.

These offerings provide practical information, emotional support, and a welcoming community for individuals impacted by vision loss to exchange ideas, build confidence, and learn from professionals and one another. Through caregiver matching and peer connections, families can connect with others who share similar experiences—reducing isolation and strengthening networks of support.

Educational workshops and conferences help families better navigate visual impairment, understand the *Expanded Core Curriculum, develop advocacy skills, and access tools and resources that support their child’s independence and success.

Family Connections empowers families with knowledge, encouragement, and community—helping children who are blind or visually impaired thrive at home, in the community, and beyond.
